The ten inch metal tube with both ends capped resembled a pipe bomb, causing the ordinance disposal team to be called in. The nearby homes were evacuated and streets were closed to traffic.
A specially-designed pressurized air tool was used to blow open one end of the device which was determined to be a home made bong, a device used for smoking marijuana.
