Frak You, Left and Right
By Mahyar A. Amouzegar
Frak You, Left and Right,
Frak the men and women who backed the Trump fight,
Frak you, Biden, for your endless delay—
The Equal Rights Amendment was just a pen stroke away.
Frak you, “leaders,” who sold out the game,
While gorging on profits and dodging the blame.
The Senators with big R who let Trump walk free—
Frak their silence, their lies, and their false empathy.
Frak the AG who stumbled and bumbled,
Justice delayed as democracy crumbled.
Frak those who stayed home, chanting “They’re all the same,”
You earned the chaos, the ruin, the shame.
And frak me too, for losing the thread,
So much time wasted on words I once said.
I wasted energy on my pronoun, ignoring the great fall—
Frak me for not keeping my eye on the ball.
