Diversity Hire? How About Donald Trump Himself?

In a case of the pot calling the kettle black, Trump himself is a diversity hire, as are nearly all of his cabinet appointees.

This might be a case where to use an old idiom, Donald Trump, who we can identify as the pot, is calling the kettle black. In other words, Trump, a nonstop blowhard critic about so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, is now himself being called a diversity hire.

Diversity Hire The ViewIn that case, someone might point out that Trump is a hypocrite guilty of the very thing he claims about others.

Sunny Hostin, co-host of the TV show, The View, said Trump “was given everything that he has. He is a legacy hire (for President). He is, if anything, a DEI hire, a ‘didn’t earn it’ hire.”

Hostin’s comments came after the federal Office of Personnel Management announced that all DEI offices in the government had to close with its employees placed on paid leave.

Hoston added that “you’re talking about a man who didn’t become the president of the United States because of merit. He hasn’t had, really, he had no political experience whatsoever. He had no business experience. He was given everything that he has.”

If Trump is in fact a diversity hire, maybe he too should be put on paid leave?

Much of Trump’s wealth was inherited, in part, from his father. News reports said that he received at least $413 million from his father’s income (much of it the father gained through fraud).

The View’s other co-host, Ana Navarro, a former Republican Party commentator, said that Trump, by getting rid of DEI on his first day as president, “is giving a green light to people who are racist, to people who are homophobic. To people who are anti-women and think they should be in the kitchen and telling them there is no consequence to your racism.”

Of course, the Orange Man, Trump, didn’t take kindly to the charge he is a DEI hire.

“What’s ya talking about?” Trump said. “I’m a straight, White, Anglo-Saxon, All American stable genius who religiously goes to church at least once a year. And prays with my fellow White God, Elon Musk. If anybody’s a DEI hire, it’s that Black Muslim, Barack Hussein Obama, it’s that low IQ Kamala Harris, and Crazy Nancy Pelosi, who should all be executed for treason. Okay?”

Musk, himself, said after the catastrophic California wildfires that “DEI means people DIE.” He accused the Los Angeles Fire Department and city and state officials of putting DEI measures over “saving lives and homes” in L.A.

However, DEI supporters say, rather than lowering hiring standards, its policies broaden the pool of people employers would consider for a job.

“At its best, DEI is about developing talent, measuring it in a fair way and finding hidden talent and disadvantaged talent in a world where not everybody has an equal chance to exhibit their abilities,” said Ken Frazier, the first Black chief executive of a major pharmaceutical company.

Researchers say DEI initiatives have been shown to boost profits, reduce employee attrition, and increase employee motivation.

In another example of Trump, the pot, calling the kettle black, he accused the Federal Aviation Administration of “actively recruiting workers” to become air traffic controllers who suffer severe intellectual disabilities that include psychiatric problems and other mental conditions.

If anybody’s suffering from psychiatric problems, it’s probably Donald Trump himself.

A leading psychologist says Trump is afflicted with “malignant narcissistic personality disorder, hyper manic temperament, and dementia.” The psychologist, John D. Gartner, a former professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School who specializes in borderline personality disorder, says Trump’s 40 tweets in one night, even on holidays, are “always filled with rage, constantly labeling people as losers.”

Meanwhile, 200 mental health professionals signed an open letter warning the public of Trump’s “malignant narcissism.” They said Trump meets the diagnostic criteria for narcissistic, antisocial and paranoid personality disorder. These are “all made worse by his intense sadism, which is a symptom of malignant narcissism.”

Of course, calling Trump a pot might be considered an insult to pots if you realize all the good things pots do in holding liquids, growing plants, or as place to go to the bathroom. That’s in contrast to Trump to who if we understand the mental health professionals correctly, is steadily going to pot.
