DARLENE (crying)
The Good Humor Man gave it to me & Donnie grabbed it away!
DONNIE
It must’ve melted – see, she’s holding the wrapper.
DARLENE (still crying)
I gave the man a nickel & he handed me the Grape Popsicle.
DONNIE
You can’t believe her – she pees her pants!
MOTHER
You can’t say those things about people – that’s private.
DONNIE
Not anymore.
Donnie goes to the door & let’s in 3 little boys & a little girl.
DONNIE
Hi – we were just talking about the incident you know nothing about.
DARLENE
Did you tell them I…I…
DONNIE
No, the whole class!
DARLENE
Why would you do that?
DONNIE

DONNIE
Give her a nickel, Mom.
MOTHER
That’s not the point, Donnie.
DONNIE
Case closed. And, you know Dad wouldn’t understand like you do, Mom. I like your hair!
MOTHER
Are you sure you kids didn’t see anything?
