Trump Slams Late Pope, Says Steve Bannon Should Be New Pontiff

In the wake of the passing of the late Pope Francis, President Donald J. Trump has had a lot to say.

In the wake of the passing of the late Pope Francis, President Donald J. Trump has had a lot to say about the late Pontiff and who should succeed him. He began by noting that Francis, 88, was “the first Pope from a shithole country,” meaning Argentina.

Trump explained that Francis’s country of origin is the reason for his unreasonable position on immigrants. Said Francis just prior to Trump’s assuming his second term as president: “if it (Trump’s deportation plan) “is true, it is a disgrace, because it makes the poor wretches who have nothing pay the bill for the inequalities. It won’t do.”

Trump derided the statements of the late Pope, saying they are indicative of “dementia,” and that Francis “had a lot more in common with Sleepy Joe Biden than just his religion.”

Francis admonished the 47th president to “reject hate, discrimination and exclusion.” “Francis was a blatant left-winger,” said Trump, “and a DEI apologist. We’re better shed of him.”

Regarding Trump’s personal choice to become the Church’s 267th Pope, Trump said, “I think that Steve Bannon would do a terrific job. I mean, he’s a man; he’s smart and he’s Catholic. What do you want, the world?” Bannon, host of the podcast War Room, was unavailable for comment, but was said to be mulling the offer over.

When it was pointed out that selection of the Pope is not the responsibility of the United States president, but rather, the College of Cardinals, Trump snorted. “I’ll put Trump University up against the College of Cardinals any day,” he said.

He dismissed the Cardinals as a “feckless group,” who were “unable to get laid on a regular basis. And some of those nuns are pretty hot.” 137 of the more than 250 Cardinals are eligible to vote in selection of the Pope, and Trump is already taking preemptive steps to declare that “any election which doesn’t pick Bannon is rigged!”

Trump is reportedly sending a delegation headed by former Trump lawyer Rudy Giulliani to Rome to “take to task” the College of Cardinals for “suitcases of ballots” intended to sway the election. DOGE is also slated to play a role: insiders say that Elon Musk will deliver checks for $5 million euros to each Cardinal, in order to sway their vote.
