SACRAMENTO – The California Film Foundation (CFF) is proud to announce the annual Sacramento International Film Festival (SFF), taking place April 20-28 at the Delta King, Embassy Suites and Crocker Art Museum.
Known for Academy Award winning movies such as Slumdog Millionaire and Strangers No More, along with exciting local programs like 48 Hours Sacramento and Nor-Cal All-Stars, this week-long celebration of cinema art will again feature many established and rising stars. Previous VIPs have included directors Bryan Singer (X-Men) and Vicki Jensen (Shrek), as well as actors Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) and James Russo (Django, Donny Brasco). This year features special guest appearances by film luminaries such as UCLA screenwriting Dean, Dr. Lew Hunter and actress Dominique Swain who stared as Lolita in the big screen adaptation with Jeremy Irons.
Sacramento Film Festival also provides the area’s most diverse cinematic line-up with the special events like Cine Soul and Cine Latino, the Sacramento Black and Latino Film Festivals. In fact, this year Cine Asia will close the 8 day event at 2pm April 28th with the fabulous Model Minority by Japanese actress and 13 year E.R. cast member Lily Mariye. Ms. Mariye is also married to legendary Jazz musician Boney James. Look for many more surprise shows and guests in coming weeks.
